HERBS

In a region with centuries long tradition of collecting herbs, believing in and experiencing the healing power of herbs, our people are acting in accordance with unwritten "herbalists' law".

They know the way of the nature and nature communicates with them in terms of colors, fragrances, forms and flavors. They do not appreciate the nature only because of its beauty, but also because it is a valuable source of so many healthy foods and medicines it is willing to share with us.

In rich and fertile valleys and woods, meadows and groves, they collect only the best herbs that are later cut, sifted or processed to essential oils, tinctures and extracts by the best experts.

Our people pick only the species which grow at the best places, on the best soil, where the herbs are most beautiful,

healthiest and most luxuriant, because such herbs are of the best quality and they have most healing properties.

They collect herbs only when the weather is nice and dry, when there's no dew.
They dry flowers, leaves and other tender herb parts in shade and draught, not under the direct exposure to the sun.

They know the exact time to harvest different parts of herbs, and they do it according to "herbalists' calendar", which teaches us that the herb has most healing properties in its leaves and flowers when they are blossoming, and that the roots, fruit, seed and bark are richest by the end of the vegetation period, so that the flowers are being harvested as soon as the herb flowers, leaves and whole herbs are being picked in the moment the first flower emerges, fruit and seeds are collected when they are completely ripe, the barks are being peeled off in early spring, when they are richest with juices, roots are being pulled out in fall, when they are well grown and mature.
